The mission of the National Behavioral Leadership Initiative on Chronic Diseases (NBLIC) is to empower underserved communities of color to experience improved health equity and wellness making possible the reduction of cancer and chronic conditions and diseases in those communities.
NBLIC is committed to increase health parity through education, health promotion, advocacy and research.
NBLIC (beginning in 1996 as the National Black Leadership Initiative on Cancer) has a rich history of providing services to the black and other communities of color. Collaborative programs and projects with educational, academic, health providers and health care institutions were formed to address community needs.
